Q: What exactly is Private Banking?

A: Private Banking is relationship banking. Our private bankers take a very comprehensive approach to managing the most complex banking relationships and financial needs. We are the quarterbacks to the relationship – we assist with the day-to-day banking needs, as well as complex loan needs, and work to partner with the appropriate advisors to address investment planning and risk management.

Q: How does Private Banking help our members?

A: We are trusted advisors and friends for our members. We are available 24/7. It's our responsibility to understand what our members' needs are so we can help them grow, maintain, and protect what they are working to accomplish.

Q: What differentiates TowneBank from other banks?

A: Our culture of caring and our people. We take a personal approach and are highly dedicated to providing exquisite member service. It is a partnership – not just a banking transaction.

Q: If someone were debating between banking at TowneBank and another bank, why should they choose TowneBank?

A: Our goal is to always find the right solution and what makes sense for our members and the bank. We are creative, flexible, and have a vested interest in the success of our members and communities. We are the “yes” bankers and remain committed, even during the most challenging times. We’re a family with our members and each other.

Q: Describe a time when you helped a member out of a difficult situation or helped to solve a problem for them.

A: We’re committed to our members 24/7. Recently, a member was traveling abroad, and a loan payment was drafted multiple times by a vendor, however, he received notice that it had not been received. Concerned about credit and with very little access to communication late at night in a different time zone, he agreed when I asked him for his vendor information. He gave the vendor permission to discuss the payment with me. I worked directly with the vendor to retract the duplicate payments and set up the appropriate withdrawal and credit our member’s account within 24 hours. He was able to relax and enjoy the remainder of his vacation without worry.

Q: What is your favorite thing about what you do?

A: The people – the friendships and relationships I have developed over my 30+ year career.

Q: What are three traits that define TowneBank?

A: Committed culture, integrity, and exquisite service.

Q: Name something you have learned from one of your members.

A: I learn something every day, but the most important thing I've learned is to listen. I listen so that I can understand what is important to each individual member and help understand their specific needs.

Q: Where do you see changes coming in Private Banking in the next 2-3 years?

A: Private Banking will continue to grow as we welcome the next generation of physicians, lawyers, and business owners.
