On Saturday, April 26, 2014, Microsoft confirmed that a vulnerability existed in versions 6 through 11 of Internet Explorer that could allow an attacker to take complete control of a user's computer. Attackers could then install programs; view, change or delete data; or create new accounts with full user rights on your computer. On May 1, Microsoft announced the release of an emergency patch to address the issue on all affected versions of Internet Explorer. Most customers have automatic updating enabled and will not need to take any action because this security update will be downloaded and installed automatically.
