Remote Deposit Capture
Starting February 9, the TowneBank Remote Deposit Capture system will be the only remote deposit option for your business checks. Beginning January 5, we will begin sending email invitations to all Old Point Remote Deposit customers inviting you to set up an appointment with our partners at Benchmark. Your email will include a customized code that you will need when scheduling your online appointment.
Please note that if you do NOT install the TowneBank software by February 9, you will need to visit a local TowneBank office to deposit checks on or after that date until your new software and hardware setup is complete.

What to Expect at Your Appointment
During your appointment, our partners at Benchmark Technologies will guide you through installing the necessary software and drivers so you can begin using the system on February 9.

Logging In on February 9
On Monday, February 9, you will log into Remote Deposit Capture as you always have, through Online Banking. However, you will need to navigate to TowneBank.com, select the Login button in the top, right-hand corner, select 'Old Point Online' from the drop down, and log in with your existing username and password.

Yes, you do need to schedule the appointment with Benchmark so you can be certain to complete all the necessary steps required for the upgrade. In addition, Benchmark will provide you with initial user training.

Yes. To prepare for your appointment with Benchmark, please gather the following information:
- a list of valid users
- scanner locations
- scanner serial numbers

Ensure you have no other commitments during the time of your appointment and that you will be present at the workstation where your scanner is currently installed. Please also gather some checks that you can use for testing purposes.
Software updates will require administrative rights to download. Please make sure you have admin rights to your computer or have an IT resource available during this time.

All Old Point Remote Deposit customers will receive an email with a customized code to schedule an appointment between January 5 and February 9. The first emails will be sent on January 5.
If you, or anyone in your organization, does not receive an email on or after January 5, please contact our Treasury Member Care team at 844-638-6724, M-F, 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM. -
The appointment may take approximately one hour per workstation. This includes the upgrade process and initial training. You must remain on the phone with the technician during that time.

A Benchmark technician will guide you through the following steps:
- Update/Install new scanner software
- Validate that you have the most up to date operating system and browser
- Process a test deposit using a voided check to ensure successful scanner software installation
- Provide an overview of the new system

The current Remote Deposit company administrator will need to attend a Benchmark session as well as any users that may require training on the new system.
Depending on your rights on your computer, you may also require an IT professional on standby to assist with the software download permission.

Your existing scanner should be compatible with the new system. You will however need to make some updates to the software needed. We have contracted with Benchmark to help facilitate these upgrades.

If your Benchmark appointment is scheduled before Februray 9, you will no longer be able to log into the Old Point Remote Deposit at the conclusion of your appointment. Instead, you will need to visit an Old Point or TowneBank office to make your business deposits until the TowneBank system becomes available on February 9.
If your appointment with Benchmark is scheduled after February 9, you will log into the Old Point Remote Deposit system until 4:00 PM on Friday, February 6. After that time, Old Point Remote Deposit will no longer be available.
