Debit Card Changes

You may continue using your current Old Point Debit Card through Sunday, February 8. You should be able to make ATM withdrawals and Debit Card purchases as normal; however, over the weekend of February 6-8, balance information at the ATMs may not be available.

As early as January 26, you will receive your NEW TowneBank Debit Card and a separate mailer confirming your Personal Identification Number (PIN). Please wait to activate and begin using your new card until Monday, February 9. Instructions for activation will be included with your new card. If you do not receive your new card by February 4, please contact Towne Member Care at 844-638-6714.

In order to offer debit cards with contactless or ‘tap and go‘ payment features, all new and replacement debit cards will be ordered through and delivered by our card provider. We are pleased to share that you can add these cards to mobile wallets for smartphones and smartwatches. Most cards mail within 7 to 10 business days. Expedited delivery is available.

Pin Reminders and Resets

If you need a PIN reminder or reset for any account, please contact Towne Member Care at 844-638-6714 on or after February 9 to request a new PIN mailer.

ATM Downtime

ATM maintenance to install new machines at certain Old Point locations will begin the week of February 2, 2026. ATMs at Downtown Hampton, Executive Tower, and Woodland Road in Hampton and at Professional Park in Newport News will be offline for one day between February 2-5, 2026, while they are updated to TowneBank software.

Any TowneBank ATM is available to Old Point members surcharge-free. We will be happy to waive fees charged by other financial institutions during the ATM transition period.

Please note that MoneyPass ATM network access will end on Friday, February 6, 2026.

Mastercard

Your new Debit Card will carry the Mastercard emblem and can be used anywhere Mastercard is accepted, nationally or internationally. If you have travel plans and expect to use your card outside of the U.S., please notify your banker or Towne Member Care to ensure card access while abroad.

If your credit card sales are currently credited to your Old Point account, simply provide your merchant processor with the following information:

Card Swap & Card Controls

Both Card Swap and Card Controls, available in Old Point online and mobile banking, will no longer be available after the transition to TowneBank on February 9. TowneBank will communicate about a separate service to monitor and control debit card activity later in 2026.
