Finding an Appropriate Medicare Part D Rx Plan for 2026
SHARE
During Medicare’s Annual Open Enrollment Period, October 15 through December 7, you may change your Medicare Part D prescription coverage. While your current plan will automatically renew if you don’t enroll in a new plan, costs may have increased for the premium and your medications, or the plan’s drug formulary may have changed.
To find a new prescription drug plan that is appropriate for you, go to Medicare.gov. Click “Find Health and Drug Plans”, enter your zip code, and select “Medicare Drug Plans.”
Add medications, select dosage, quantity, and frequency, then choose up to five pharmacies. Medicare.gov will show available plans, premiums, and drug costs for you to compare.
If you’d prefer a new prescription drug plan, you must enroll during Medicare’s Annual Open Enrollment Period, October 15 through December 7. Plan changes made during the Medicare Open Enrollment Period will be effective January 1, 2026.
It’s highly recommended that you evaluate your prescription drug coverage annually. For more information or if you have Medicare questions, please contact Steve Frazier, Towne Benefits, SteveFrazier@townebenefits.com.
