Congratulations to Peter Decker, Norfolk’s First Citizen

Peter G. Decker III was named Norfolk’s First Citizen by the Cosmopolitan Club of Norfolk. This distinguished award recognizes individuals for their selfless service to the Norfolk community. 

Pete is a partner at the Decker Law firm, founded by his late father, Peter G. Decker, Jr., in 1961. Pete Decker Jr. was named Norfolk First Citizen in 1998.  

Pete has practiced law for three decades, representing clients across federal and state courts in the Hampton Roads region. He earned his undergraduate degree from Old Dominion University and his Juris Doctor from the George Mason School of Law. 

He devotes many hours to a variety of organizations, including the Norfolk Airport Authority, the Norfolk Sheriff’s Foundation, the Norfolk Public Library Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and the TowneBank Norfolk regional board. Congratulations, Pete!
