TowneBank is focused on giving back to the communities we serve throughout Virginia and North Carolina, resulting in billions of dollars in new growth and development. As a local bank, our family members, directors, and employees are active volunteers, serving on numerous boards and donating their time and talents to local organizations. Throughout our growth, we’ve never lost sight of our true mission–to continue to be a community asset by serving others and enriching lives.

    Decisions regarding TowneBank sponsorships are primarily made at the regional level. If you would like more information about charitable giving, please contact the Regional President who serves your community.

  • In our most recent Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) examination, TowneBank received a Performance Rating of 'Outstanding' from the FDIC. This rating is the highest rating a bank can receive and demonstrates our commitment to investing in the community through small business loans, charitable giving, and volunteerism.

The TowneBank Foundation

Founded in 2001, the TowneBank Foundation provides charitable grants and donations to more than 200 non-profit organizations, all of which further our mission of serving others and enriching lives. TowneBank contributes a percentage of its annual profits to the Foundation and covers 100 percent of the Foundation’s administrative fees. Additionally, Towne employees volunteer their time to support the organization.

Recognizing that we live in a wonderful community with great outreach, the TowneBank Foundation will seek to enhance the quality of life in the communities we serve. Through financial contributions and active volunteerism, TowneBank, its family members and friends, will deliver quality leadership, compassionate stewardship, and heart-felt support to the many charitable and philanthropic organizations in our community.

  • Proceeds from the Charity Golf Tournament benefit the TowneBank Foundation, resulting in charitable giving throughout the communities TowneBank serves. The tournament is held during the spring at Riverfront Golf Club near TowneBank’s headquarters in Suffolk, Virginia.
     
  • Live music, local culinary favorites, and an amazing silent auction are trademarks of The Fall Extravaganza celebration. Since its inception in 2004, The Fall Extravaganza has raised $4.5 million to support the Foundation - and had a lot of fun in the process! While we paused hosting our annual Fall Extravaganza in 2020 - we look forward to finally having you back as guests joining us on Saturday, October 14, 2023!
