Pay Your Loan with Loan Pay

Make an online payment to your TowneBank auto or personal loan with a checking or savings account you own at another financial institution. It's easy, secure, and complimentary. Once enrolled in Loan Pay you can:

  • Set up one-time or recurring loan payments from any device
  • Receive an email notification when the payment is initiated
  • View pending and completed payments

To get started, loan holders must first enroll in Towne-Personal Online Banking.

Enroll

Once enrolled in Towne-Personal Online Banking, you can login and select Loan Pay from the main navigation. Prior to making your first payment you will need to set up the account at the other bank or credit union. For your security, we must validate that you own the account and this process can take up to 3 business days.

Steps to Set Up Your External Account

  1. Log in and navigate to Loan Pay
  2. Add the routing and account number for the checking, savings, or money market account at the other financial institution in the fields provided. 
  3. Within the next 3 business days, TowneBank will make two small deposits of less than $1.00 into the external account. Followed by a debit that is equivalent to the two deposits. 
  4. Within the next 1-3 business days, you will need to log into Towne-Personal Online Banking and validate the amounts in the fields provided.
  5. Once complete, you can use this account to make payments to your TowneBank loan.

    In North Carolina, the title will be processed by the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV). This process usually takes about 10 - 15 business days.
