Personal service is important to us. If you would like assistance with setting up direct deposits and electronic payments, contact your hometown banker and you will be personally guided through the process. You will need 1 or 2 former bank statements.

If you prefer to contact companies directly, our welcome kit has worksheets to help you gather all of the necessary information.  When you contact companies directly, they may request your new TowneBank account number and the bank’s routing number.  See sample below:

Useful Tips 

  • Review your bank statement(s) from your former bank to see what entries post to your account
  • Utilize a worksheet to compile information to help you: 
    • Change your direct deposits 
    • Visit godirect.org to make changes to federal direct deposits, including social security, veterans affairs, and railroad retirement
    • Change your electronic payments (ex: utility payments, mortgage, credit cards, etc.)
  • Close your bank accounts with your former financial institution after:
    • All of your outstanding checks have cleared
    • Your deposits and payments have been successfully moved
      Note: most banks will not close out an account unless you notify them - even if the account has a zero balance
