Celebrating 25 Years

Serving Others and Enriching Lives.

A Special Message from
G. Robert Aston Jr.
TowneBank Executive Chairman

TowneBank started with a big dream in a two-car garage in Portsmouth, VA. It was there that the original founders created the vision that would become TowneBank: a community-oriented bank focused on key principles that include a commitment to recruiting the very best employees, creating a family atmosphere, engaging local board members, and delivering the ultimate in member service.

"Thank you for the past 25 years of success, and we look forward to spending the next 25 years with you."
- G. Robert Aston Jr., Executive Chairman

Recognized by Forbes and American Banker as a top bank in the nation, we now operate 51 banking offices throughout Hampton Roads and Central Virginia, as well as Northeastern and Central North Carolina. How We Give Back

Your Bank. Your Neighbor.

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) evaluates banks based on their performance and initiatives in meeting the credit needs of their service areas through the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) exam. At TowneBank, we have earned an outstanding rating six times since 1999.

Since our last exam, we have made equity investments totaling $193.8 million and charitable donations totaling $13.6 million, combining to represent 11.8% of the bank's average total investments as of year-end 2022. In addition, our employees have provided over 7,900 volunteer hours and continue to do so each and every day.
